Andreas Strandfelt

I am Andreas Strandfelt, a cloud architect based in Aalborg, Denmark.

I have worked in software since 2016 and with Azure since 2018. My current focus is Azure App Services, Azure Functions and Azure DevOps, implemented in .NET, Bicep and PowerShell. I work on architecture and implementation in the same projects.

Since 2022 I have been a part of Yggdrasil Commodities in Aalborg. The company trades power, which means the platform runs 24/7 across several offices. It is fully cloud-based, built on Zero Trust principles, and uses failover regions for resilience.

In 2025 I received the Microsoft MVP award in the Azure Application PaaS technology area.

Before Yggdrasil I was an Azure consultant at Delegate, working on event-driven and IoT solutions including a cloud-integrated battery storage system, and senior Azure developer at TARGIT, moving a monolithic BI platform to containerised microservices on Azure with .NET Core, Docker, Kubernetes and Azure DevOps. I started out as a graduate engineer at Danske Bank on security and platform teams. I hold an MSc in Computer Science from Aalborg University.

I write here when a problem at work turns out to be new or undocumented. The posts record what the limitation was, and what worked, mostly around Azure Functions, App Service, Azure DevOps, GitHub, automation and cost. Some of it will be wrong or out of date, so corrections are welcome.

I also run Home Assistant at home. It turns up in my Azure work now and then, usually as the quickest way to get a notification out of something.
